The Housing Mart History
The Housing Mart, Inc. was formed by Gary and Neena Stoskopf in 1984 as a sole proprietorship selling manufactured homes. The business started in Lewis County at Exit 72. When the business started, Gary was the only employee and the service portion of the business used contractors. Neena was devoting her time to her career in education at Centralia College. On the weekends, Neena and their two young daughters helped man the office while Gary made site inspections and worked with customers. The business was incorporated in 1987 and its place of business was changed to Exit 88B on I-5 in Rochester, Washington. Since our manufactured and modular home dealership is locally owned and operated, Gary and Neena are the sole shareholders of The Housing Mart, Inc. Gary serves as President and CEO and Neena as Vice President and Secretary Treasurer. A complete service department was developed to augment the sales function in 1989. A finance department and a construction department were added in 1994 to meet customer needs. Currently, ninety-five percent of all homes sold at The Housing Mart are turnkey projects. |
The Housing Mart, Inc. has been recognized as a leader in outstanding customer service in the manufactured and modular home industry regionally and nationally for over 25 years. The Housing Mart has received numerous top sales volume awards for Washington State from Golden West Homes and from Marlette Homes for the Western Region which includes seven states. The service department at the Housing Mart was selected to be in a documentary for FEMA showing the proper set up of manufactured homes in flood areas. After the earthquakes at Satsop and Nisqually, none of The Housing Mart systems-built manufactured home (HUD Code) set ups failed. Our service department did repair 40 other manufactured homes that had been damaged by the quakes. "The Housing Mart's philosophy has been to place customer's needs as a top priority. The tradition of personalized service continues today." Gary W. Stoskopf, President |
